How to Use Instagram Stories to Engage With Your Followers

Instagram is one of those social media platforms that’s really fun for Millennials to use. It’s also a fantastic way to build a business and remain in touch with your customers. If you’re looking to make the most of social media in Las Vegas, it’s a great idea to use the Instagram Stories feature. It’s a lot like the Snapchat app, where you can get a snapshot of a person’s day. There are a few things you’ll want to remember as you engage using the Instagram Stories feature.

Be Authentic

Most people can sniff out an imposter. Don’t try to be something you’re not. As a business owner, you want the people to follow you for you and what you have to offer. Granted, you don’t have to share more than you’re comfortable with sharing. It’s OK to edit your stories. After all, it’s all a part of storytelling. Just be truthful. Don’t rent a fancy car and pretend it’s a new purchase when, in reality, it’s only yours to enjoy for a few hours.

Be Consistent

Most people follow at least 250 people on Instagram. After a while, the digital media space becomes crowded. The best way to remain competitive is to stay visible. You can only remain visible if you consistently share snapshots of your day. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. If it’s a busy day, take a snapshot of you in the middle of your work. Do a video of your feet walking to your next destination. If there’s a song that you’re loving, take a screenshot of the song and post it as another snapshot in your Stories. It only takes a few seconds to add to your Stories, but the more people see what you’re doing, the more engaged they’ll be.

Be Interesting

It might sound obvious, but no one wants to watch ultra-boring Instagram Stories. Try to avoid only sharing selfies and boomerangs. If you’re on a fitness journey, share it. However, don’t only share pictures of the same green smoothie. After a while, you become predictable, and people won’t want to follow you anymore.

As long as you implement these steps into your Instagram Stories content creation process, you’ll be able to garner a following that’s interested in what you have to share. It may take some time to build a following, and that’s OK. You want an audience that’s both engaged, interested and loyal. Once you get those numbers up, it’ll be hard to lose them.
